Player Development Program

MSSG's signature Player Development Program (PDP) is designed to reduce your handicap by at least one-third over a 3 to 12-month period. It focuses on the parts of your game that most impact your score and then tailors instruction to deal specifically with these target areas. This medium to long-term commitment can have a dramatic impact on your enjoyment of the game. PDP is a 1-on-1 instruction program (up to two, one-hour lessons per week) that provides continuous access to our teaching resources as your game develops and your score drops.
"I designed the Player Development Program for students, no matter what their handicaps, who are ready to make a commitment to take their games to a higher level," said Matt Swanson, Director of Instruction. "My goal when working with a student in the PDP is to do a total evaluation of his or her game, and then give that player a blueprint to improve it. We work from the plan each time we meet. Each lesson, each bucket of balls and each round of golf is spent practicing those drills or swing mechanics changes while I am overseeing the student's progression. The results for the student who takes on this challenge can be spectacular."
When I started in Matt Swanson's Player Development Program, I was routinely scoring 95-100, occasionally breaking 90. In the last six months, my scores have declined, and my game has developed a consistency I never had before. The short, sliced drives are history, and I am not afraid of the sand shots anymore. I also have developed confidence that I can get the ball close on any shot inside 50 yards and make putts. Recently, I shot a 75 -- my best round ever.
