Matt Swanson is the Director of Instruction at Matt Swanson's School of Golf. Named one of America's top-ten teachers under 40, Swanson is a PGA-certified professional who has worked with several nationally recognized teachers, including Jack Burke, Jr., Jim Hardy and Hank Haney. Troy Schleicher - Senior Instructor

Troy loves to teach and shows his love of the game in every lesson.  PGA members since 1986, his teaching as been influenced by some of the States best teachers.  Troy graduated from Southwest Texas University in 1982 where he played on the golf team, and has also played in several PGA Tour events and South Texas PGA events. Jeff Pope, C.G.F.I. - Golf Fitness Instructor

Jeff Pope, a Titleist Performance Institute Certified Golf Fitness Instructor, has been training golfers since 1998, and has owned and operated two fitness clubs in the Houston area. He is a Rice University graduate that received Academic All Conference honors while competing for the basketball and track teams. This experience included fifteen years of training and competing at the highest level of sports, reaching the collegiate and professional levels in three different sports. During this time he was given the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the top minds in the areas of fitness, sports medicine and nutrition. His true passion is the great game of golf and helping students reach their health, fitness and sport goals. Richard Hines - Senior Professional

Richard Hines brings a wealth of experience to our staff at Matt Swanson’s School of Golf. He has been a golf teacher for more than thirty years and is a Quarter-Century member of the PGA. Richard was the Head Golf Professional at the Lakeshore Country Club (owned by PGA Tour professionals Jeff Sluman & Dudley Hart) and the Midvale Country Club in Rochester, NY. He also served as an Operations Consultant to Robert Trent Jones, Sr. at the Coral Ridge Country Club in Fort Lauderdale. He also wrote monthly golf instruction tips for the Rochester Voice Newspaper in 2000, 2001 & 2002 and did live TV golf tips during the 6:00 news while in Rochester. Peter Vorster - Senior Professional

Peter brings a long career and an impressive resume of playing and teaching experience with him as he joins the teaching staff of Matt Swanson’s School of Golf. Peter’s playing accomplishments include multiple tournament wins including, three time South African National Amateur Championship winner, Orange Free State Amateur Championship, and three time champion on the Senior mini Tour. He has more than thirty years coaching experience and has been a Senior Golf Instructor at numerous venues and served as Head Professional at Quantum Golf School for 16 years. Rick Wright - Putting Specialist

Rick is considered one of the pioneers of putter fitting. In 1996, Rick was inspired to create the first putter fitting system in the golf industry. There were fitting systems for drivers, fairway woods, and irons, but nothing for putters. So, he and his partner, Kirk Currie, set out and developed the Professional’s Putter Fitting System and licensed it to Slazenger Golf. Their system was highly effective with over 1,200 systems distributed worldwide. Read More

 

Josh Shuman - Lead Instructor

Josh played High School golf in Angleton and has been in the golf business ever since. He has experience in most aspects of the golf business from retail to pro shop. He gained teaching experience at The Village and Briarcrest Country Club and specialized in club fitting at Golf Galaxy and Golf Etc. He is in the process of becoming a member of the PGA.
